Micheline LaForme

Micheline LaForme is a business oriented, entrepreneurial Human Resources professional with over 20 years’ experience in a variety of challenging business environments including education, entertainment, telecommunications, health care and consulting. She has successfully partnered with senior teams, CEO’s and employees to create innovative strategies to build, grow and evolve the business.

A seasoned HR professional, while at Cineplex, Micheline led and implemented an HR integration strategy for the Cineplex acquisition of Famous Players. Prior to this, at Bell Canada, Micheline created and executed with her team, the strategic HR plan to transform Bell Nexxia from a product to a customer centric and solutions focused company and facilitated an above industry average 13.8 gain in employee satisfaction.

Micheline is a lecturer at The Chang School of Business at Ryerson University and Professor at George Brown College with a previous appointment at Humber College. Her teaching has encompassed Human Resources, Organizational Behaviour, Contemporary Management, Training and Development, Recruitment and Selection, Pension and Benefits, HR planning and HRIS.

Micheline began her career as a Registered Professional Dietitian in the Health Care sector. She was actively involved in the establishment of the self-regulating College of Dietitians of Ontario and served as its first President.

Micheline has served as a member of the Toronto Board of Trade Compensation Survey Committee. Previously, she was active as a Board member of the Ontario Dietetic Association, Parkdale Project Read and a member of the HRPA Dinner Speaker Series.

Micheline has an MBA from Queen’s University, Kingston, an Honours Bachelor of Commerce, Human Resources Management and Industrial Relations from Lakehead University, Thunder Bay and a Bachelor of Science, Home Economics from the University of Western Ontario, London.
